Rootboot Razor is a disc-based seeding system designed to efficiently open the soil. It effectively cuts through debris, residue, and weeds using a disc. This disc can penetrate the soil at various depths without impacting the depth and placement of the seeds.
The system includes a boot for delivering seeds, fertilizer, and liquid fertilizer. It places paired seed rows 75mm apart, directly behind the disc, and features a plate or scraper on the disc's shadowing side.
The seeding depth is controlled by a press wheel, which also compacts the soil between seed rows. This setup ensures optimal placement of seeds, fertilizer, and liquid fertilizer across different soil types and conditions (refer to Rootboot theory and Rootboot information for more details).
Rootboot Razor stands out from tyned Rootboot systems due to its superior handling of trash and stubble. Field trials indicate that the Razor preserves moisture by gently fracturing the soil, a contrast to knife points that disrupt and aerate the soil. The unique aspect of Rootboot Razor lies in the interaction between the boot and the disc, where their movements are independent of each other.
